The Alliance for Adult Research in Congenital Cardiology (AARCC) was formed in 2006 as a research group to foster collaborative relationships between programs and investigators, to further and sustain research efforts, and to include the goals of innovative investigations, advancing knowledge, and improving outcomes. Since its creation, the group has published four multicenter research studies involving adults with congenital heart disease. Additionally, they have partnered with the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA) and received support from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for two collaborative projects.
